I am speculating this really is largely due to the online dating sim elements for the game play Amnesia seems to be a standard storyline unit and/or fictional character trait in aesthetic novels, anime, and RPGs as a whole. It provides the reader/player/viewer to be able to know about the entire world they're in given that amnesiac personality has to be aware about any of it nicely.
